We're going to be taking a look at the best trailer wiring harness options here for our 2019 Toyota RAV4.So for our Toyota RAV4, we have two trailer wiring harness options. We have the CURT trailer wiring harness here. We also have the Tekonsha trailer wiring harness here.Now these wiring harnesses, they're both going to provide us the ability to signal lights from our vehicle to our trailer, to let other motorists on the road, know what we're doing. This is also required by law in many states when we are towing a trailer.So both our CURT and our Tekonsha vehicle wiring harnesses are going to be a good option for a Toyota RAV4. However, I do recommend that we go with the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness, and here's why. more

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video

We're going to be taking a look at the Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness here for our 2020 Toyota RAV4.Our Curt T connector wiring harness is going to be an excellent option here for our RAV4. It's going to provide us with the standard four pole trailer connector, which is going to be used on most smaller and even some medium duty trailers. Now this four pole connector here is going to have the basic lighting functions such as the stop, turn signals as well as the running light circuit. So our trailer connector is obviously going to be used mostly for pulling a trailer to activate the lights. However, we can also use this if we have a bike rack or cargo carrier with builtin tail lights.So in regards to mounting, we have a few different options. more

So the wiring is going to transfer the lighting signals from the back of our Corolla to the back of your trailer. That's going to help keep you not only safe, but legal as well. It's going to provide us with our turn signals, our brake lights, as well as our running lights.So the wiring is going to put out 4.2 amps per circuit for your taillights, and 2.1 amps for your stop and turn signals. So more or less what that means is whether your trailer has numerous style LED bulbs, or even the traditional style incandescent bulbs, it's going to put on enough power to eliminate both of them. more

Hi there, RAV4 owners. Today, on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness. And this is what our harness is going to look like when it's installed and in the in use position. It drapes down from the inside of the vehicle out the back and it provides you with a 4-pole flat trailer connector that's going to give you all the necessary lighting for your trailer, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, so you'll be DOT compliant in all states. On the end of our connector we've got a dust cap to help keep out any dirt and debris to ensure a long lasting connection. And if you've got it in the in use position but you're currently not hooked to your trailer, you can keep it up off the ground by using the dust cap to secure it to the safety chain loop on your hitch.When you're all done using your wiring harness, it's stored inside the vehicle. more

Since many Tacoma owners use their trucks to do a little bit of towing. You're going to want to make sure that you stay safe and legal. And our four-pole wiring is going to provide our trailer with the necessary lighting functions to do so. Now the wiring is going to have a output of 7.5 amps per circuit for your tail lights, and 2.1 amps per circuit for your stop and turn. So what that means, regardless if your trailer has incandescent bulbs or even LEDs, you're going to have no problem powering them up. more

Today on our 2018 Toyota Sienna we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness.This kit is going to provide your trailer with the proper lighting functions as you're pulling it down the road. Not only keep you safe, but legal.Now, one thing I really like about this wiring kit, and what kind of separates from some of the others, is that it's going to use a module box. What that's going to do is protect your factory wiring, and for short we're going to cur on the trailer. Now it comes with a heavy duty dust cap which will help keep your terminals protected and corrosion free. If you want to go a step further I'd recommend every now and again putting some dielectric grease on them.Now our wiring is going to have a power output of 2.1 amps per circuit for our stop and turn signals, and 7.5 amps per circuit for our tail lights. more

Today on this 2012 Toyota Camry we're going to review and install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. This is what our wire harness looks like when installed in a vehicle. Now you can see, we don't have it mounted to anything because when we're not using it, it's going to stay inside our trunk of our car. It can simply ride inside here and be protected from the elements when not in use. This is great for situations where you tow your trailer, or have it set where it lights in the back very few times of the year. And when you are ready to use it, and you keep it on the inside of vehicle, just pull out what you need to go down to your trailer's connector and you can simply close the hatch. more

And to help us with our installation, we're going to be using this short, no drill mounting bracket, part number 18140, and the four pole flat mounting bracket, part number 18144.So here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. Now I do want to mention that we chose to mount ours on the outside close to our hitch, that way we can have it whenever we tow. So we added a couple brackets that are sold separately. But our wiring's going to give us a four pole flat trailer connector. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Toyota Prius we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number C56147.So here's where our wiring single looks like when we have it fully installed. As you can see we'll have plenty of wire to hook up our connector so we can get all of our lighting functions like our turn signals, brake lights, and our running lights. It does come with a dust cover. We can actually leave it on the outside temporarily. Wrap it around our hitch, that way it'll be ready for us whenever we hook up.What I like is that we can actually store it on the inside because all of our wiring is going to be wrapped in here. So we can just lift up the compartment and store it right under here and be ready for us whenever we hook up. more

Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander we're going to be installing Hopkins four pole flat trailer connector vehicle wiring harness, part number HM11141845. This four pole flat trailer connector is going to hook up to your trailer and provide all the necessary signals.This includes your left turn, right turn, tail lamps and brake lamps so you'll be DOT compliant in all states. There's an included dust cap that can be removed or put back on. Since it does live inside the vehicle, it is going to be free of moisture but this will allow you to keep it nice and closed and prevent any moisture from entering the connector when it is on the outside if you're not using it.It can also be used to hold your connector up when you're not using it. When you're done using your connector you can open up your tailgate, wrap it up and store it in the rear compartment. When you're ready to use your connector just pull it out, hang it over the back, you can close down your panel and then lay it flat right over top of the weather stripping.When you close your tailgate it's going to pinch it to hold it in place, it's not going to damage the wiring. more

This is what our 4-pole wiring looks like when it's installed. It's going to be a custom-fit wiring. What it's going to do is it's going to give you all the proper lighting functions for your trailer or whatever it is that you may be towing. Both turn signals, your brake lights, your running lights, and your ground.Now, this wiring is going to be designed to fit or to live inside the vehicle, and it's going to be custom fit, so it's going to plug directly into the factory wiring you already have on the vehicle. Over here we're going to have the Curt wiring kit, and it's going to provide us a 4-pole flat trailer connector, and then over here we're going to have the Tekonsha wiring kit, and it's also going to provide us the 4-pole flat trailer connector.The differences between our two wiring kits is going to be very small. The major difference is going to be the power converter. They're both going to use one, but in our experiences, the Tekonsha has had a better track record for durability. Now part of that is is because if we look at the end of the converter box here, we can see this epoxy look type material, and that's going to be a potting material, and the entire converter box and all the circuits inside are going to be filled with that which is going to make it resist any kind of vibration or anything else as well as any weather and moisture from getting inside.Opposed to the Curt where the wires are just going to go straight into the converter box, and if you kind of pull on the wire, you can see that you can almost look into the converter box itself, which opens up areas for moisture or anything to get inside.With that being said, both of our wiring kits are designed to stay on the inside of the vehicle. We're going to have T-connectors that we're going to plug in behind our tail lights that we're going to get our signals from. more
